On the 2 of September, SERIALL took part at the opening of the exhibition "Dockwatchers" at The Wyspa Institute of Art, located since 2004 in the historic shipyard of Gdansk. The event, curated by Aneta Szylak, refered to the multi-layered cultural construction of the last quarter-century in Poland. With this exhibition, happening alongside the official celebrations of the 25th anniversary of Solidarnosc (the political organisation that shaked down communism in the 1980's), Wyspa targets beyond official representations of history and various forms of commemoration and mythologisation.
For the opening, some Lech Walesa pancakes printed with chocolate were offered to the audience, and in the following days, SERIALL made a serie of posters re-interpretating the famous logo of Solidarnosc designed in 1980 by Jerzy Janiszewski.
