The mobile silk-screen workshop has been fitted out in a Mercedes truck 410D with a square box, in order to exploite as much as possible the inside space (20m3). It can give accomodation to 3 people and is optimised to work in an improvised environment, in the city or in the countryside.

We realised the transformation in Rotterdam (NL) in a workshop held by local artists (chocalab) and with the support of Atelier van Lieshout. In 4 weeks of unstopped work, we restaured the floor and the roof and we installed 3 windows and a door. Then, we covered the sides with insulation and wood, we made the furniture and started to place the silk-screen materials: 200kg of paper, 150kg of ink, a complete printing device, 18 silk-screens, a lighting table...

The mobile silk screen workshop is now navigating around Paris (FR) and is activated for different printing project. It will be shown in spring 2006 in Sweden for an exhibition in Malmö with the dutch artists of the Dstruct and in Lille (FR) in the automn for new workshops with the SERIALL crew. Stay tuned on Elshopo for more information about upcoming events...
